PROFESSIONAL OBJECTIVE:
A career allowing me to use my talent as a print production artist and pre-press specialist to its fullest potential. My skill-set includes tasks such as expert image manipulation/composition, page layout, type-setting, logo creation, color correction, and a strong knowledge of pre-press and printing theory. Individual talents also include a keen sense of creativity and strong communication skills. Most of the jobs that I work on require an advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark. I can work in-house or at my own studio--managing tight deadlines and juggling multiple projects, carrying a project from concept to completion. And, best of all, I love what I do!
EXPERIENCE: Jan 99 - Present
Freelance Production Artist/Pre-Press Consultant. San Carlos, CA. Currently, my own company is operated out of my studio in San Carlos, CA. I have full in-house capabilities as well as the ability to provide my production services to my clients in their own studios as well.
Specific projects/responsibilities include: - Problem solving with clients to make what appears impossible become a reality. - Producing many annual catalogs, cover-to-cover, preparing files for printer, attending press-checks. - All aspects of Photoshop retouching. - Providing graphic design services for various clients. Finished projects include advertisements, business cards, logos, brochures and wine labels. - Managing all areas my own business from invoicing, budgeting and project management to sales and public relations. - Work on projects such as annual reports, magazine ad-work, retouching for online catalogs, packaging, posters, etc. - Clients to date include such companies as Frog Design, Ritchey Bicycles, Bozell Worldwide, Linotext, Gee + Chung, Silicon Entertainment, Made to Order.com, Geo Central, Mdg, Anvil, E Tajima, IASCO.

Production Artist/Project Manager. Metagraphics, Palo Alto, CA. Overall responsibilities include interfacing directly with clients and vendors to deliver electronic pre-press and design services ranging from page layout to film output.
Specific projects/responsibilities included: - Managing Metagraphics largest account. Responsibilities include customer-sales representation, bidding and scheduling of projects, providing specifications to printing, mounting and diecutting vendors. - Digital retouching and compositing for various clients including: Electronic Arts, Syquest, Bozell, MWA, Avocet, Nokia, Apple, Hewlett Packard, SGI, Levis, Powerbar, Southern Pacific Railroad, Netscape, CKS, Lai Venuti & Lai, REVO, and Sun Microsystems. - Producing large books from cover to cover under extremely tight deadlines. Delivered on time, meeting budget guidelines and customer expectations. - Producing annual reports for various clients under tight deadlines and endless revisions. Work included all aspects of production, from image compositing to final imposed film output to press checks. - Producing complicated packaging and POP displays. Projects include intense trapping issues, many PMS colors incorporated with 4/color, and complicated dielines.

Clients included Sunset Magazine, Ortho, Benjamin Cummings and Esprit. - Retouching and color correction for clients such as Communication Arts and Esprit.
