Hello. My name is Matt and I am undertaking a huge little project as a hobby/fun learning experience. This project is a feature-length film. It will not be shot on film, but instead is being shot on miniDV, and it will be short, as feature films go (about 1 hour long), but this is STILL a huge task.
Anyway, it's been pretty fun (and challenging, and rewarding) so far, but unfortunately I only have less than a week left in which I can shoot the movie, and the "leading lady" actress backed out, so we are depending on re-casting that role to get the film done, and QUICK!
If you are looking to do some acting or helping out with a movie -- just for fun, and just for the learning experience of it -- read on.
The movie is a campy, cheesy, B-grade horror movie with some elements of terror or creepiness, but a lot of lighthearted joking in it as well.
The role that needs to be filled is for the character JENNY:
JENNY is a fun-loving 22-year-old girl with a little bit of an attitude. She is spunky and does not try to act a day older than her age. She is the girlfriend of the main protagonist character, JAKE.
If you would like to play Jenny, you wouldn't need to be exactly 22, of course, but you would need to be able to be a little bit "girly" is the main requirement. Not sure what I mean by that, so if you're interested, just send me a pic and some info.
For every shot, I need the actors involved with the shot, PLUS a minimum crew of at least one camera operator and one boom-mic operator.
Right now I have some cast crewmembers who are willing to help out occasionally, but not everyone can make it all the time, so I am looking for somebody who has some free time and wants to get involved! You DON'T need experience... you just need to have some free time (preferably a flexible schedule that allows you to work during some weekdays -- I am trying to schedule shoots for weekends and weekday evenings after normal business hours, but weather doesn't always permit that)
We have been shooting for a couple weeks, and have shot about 1/3 of the movie. However, to continue shooting, I really need to fill this JENNY role. If someone could play her (the role involves a few lines and also some on-screen love scenes -- ie. kissing, not anything more than that) then we could get the movie 2/3 or 3/4 of the way finished, which would allow me to resume shooting in a few months (for scenes not involving the current locations) SO, a lot of shooting would need to take place this week, and preferably with someone who has free time this week (including at least some weekday evenings and either Saturday or Sunday during the day).
The reason I am posting this under "activities" is because I think this is a hobby, and is something fairly leisurely that involves several people -- I don't look at it as "work" even though it CAN be challenging at times. This is just a project for fun and as a learning experience because I have never directed anything of this size before, and most of the people involved have never crewed or acted or whatever. I cannot pay you for your participation in the movie. However, I will try to help out in certain ways, such as providing meals for the cast and crew during shoots.
