GAEM, el Grupo de Apoyo de la Educación a la Mujer, Oaxaca, Mexico 5/98-8/98 Assistant to Director. Helped to organize and effectively run the day to day operations of a non-profit NGO. Taught English three times a week to a women’s artisan cooperative in a remote village. Organized an exhibition of women’s art in the capital city of Oaxaca to raise funds for the organization. Translated many feminist theory documents. Interviewed eight women and documented their lives for a fundraising writing competition in Mexico City. Taught classes daily in local school, such as, dental and general hygiene, nutritional cooking, and English. Constructed 25 latrines for 25 families and carried out many other secondary projects.
