9/1996 - 12/1999: Programmer for Nan McKay and Associates, Inc., El Cajon, CA - Upgraded and maintained the company's PHA Manager and Payments Manager packaged software for the public housing industry, conducted customer data file analyses and conversions, and did some in-house programming.
· Updated the PHA Manager versions 5.0 to 5.16 to accommodate the substantial changes for the MTCS submission procedures and format and the new HUD-50058 forms mandated by HUD.
· Upgraded Payments Manager and PHA Manager version 4.0 to FoxPro 2.6 for DOS from FoxBASE+ which made it possible to implement the new HUD regulations mentioned above.
· Updated and overhauled the data dictionary for the Payments Manager and PHA Manager applications which had been out of date for 3 years.
· Created extensive documentation and software revision procedures for the PHA Manager and Payments Manager applications.
· Analyzed and repaired databases and other data files for some of our customers.
· Set up a system in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows to convert customers' MTCS flat files (which are submitted to HUD) to the company's new Master Software database.
· Replaced the company's old Timecard system written in obsolete FoxBASE+ with a new system written in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows that was Y2K compliant.

11/1995 - 2/1996: Contract programmer/analyst for Community Care Network, Inc., San Diego, CA - Designed report systems to track PPO claims for the company in Visual FoxPro 3.0.
· As part of a team, set up an executable that is called from an icon in the Windows Program Manager. The report system allows the users to select report and filtering options and can be used both for their monthly reports and for ad hoc reporting. The system can process data from four of the company's servers. This project also involved user training and documentation of the system as well as user procedures.
· Conducted an analysis and set up report forms for another report system project for the company's major customer.

5/1995 - 11/1995: Part-time consultant programmer for Thomson Software Products, Inc., San Diego, CA - Automated the company's Sales/Purchase Order procedures for use on a Novell network.
· Converted the company's manual procedure to a data entry and tracking system in FoxPro 2.5 for Windows.

6/1995 - 10/1995: Analyst at General Instrument, San Diego, CA - Maintained and produced monthly and ad hoc reports and data files for the Access Control Center management and for the company's customers in PowerHouse, DCL, and C.
· Overhauled the company's undocumented monthly reports, producing a detailed procedures document and setting up a report schedule.
· Consolidated and restructured the monthly report system, eliminating redundancy and freeing up considerable storage space requirements on the disk drives.

1/1995 - 2/1995: Contract programmer for Salepoint, Inc., San Diego, CA - Created a tracking system in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows in an OS/2 environment to be used with the main On-Line Cashiering System (OLCS) written in C for a midwestern university.
· Set up an expandable front-end FoxPro application for entering and maintaining returned checks data and passing it to the OLCS via an ASCII flat file.
· A second module was ¥plugged¥ into the above application for reading daily cashiering information from the OLCS via another ASCII flat file, storing the information in a transaction history file, and printing the daily transaction summary reports.

11/1994 - 12/1994: Programmer at Genesis Software, San Diego, CA - Created and maintained FoxPro 2.6 applications in Windows for the record/music industry.

6/1994 - 9/1994: Contract programmer for ComStream, San Diego, CA - Replaced an RMA tracking system in R-base with a more capable system in FoxPro 2.6 for Windows.
· Set up a system to be used with Fourth Shift to track the shipping, maintenance, and warranty status history of manufactured and repaired communications products.

6/1993 - 3/1994: Programmer at Citizens National Mortgage Corporation, San Diego, CA - Created and maintained software related to the mortgage loan industry in FoxPro 2.0 and 2.5 for DOS in a Novell LAN environment.
· Created a loan error tracking application to enable the company to determine where ¥bottlenecks¥ were occurring in loan processing within the company.
· Conducted an exhaustive analysis of a serious database error that was discovered, and systematically corrected 100+ files to eliminate the problem.

11/1991 - 3/1993: Systems programmer/analyst and programmer/analyst at C.S.C., Applied Technology Division, Camarillo, CA - Worked on the Data Administration System for the Navy's Environmental Quality Information System at Construction Battalion Center, Port Hueneme; developed and maintained various systems software for the UNIVAC 1100/73 and 1100/71 mainframes and other computer systems of the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWC-WPNS), Point Mugu; and was responsible for the investigation and resolution of Customer Assistance Requests for computer related problems.
· Conducted an analysis and developed a FoxPro 2.0 application in DOS that enabled NAWC-WPNS, Point Mugu to shift data entry of military labor time card, transportation, and fuels information from an obsolete Sperry-Univac system onto IBM PCs.

12/1980 - 4/1989: Surface Warfare Officer in United States Navy, locations overseas as well as in the United States with U.S.N. and U.S.M.C. units. Operations Division Officer, Communications Officer, 3M Coordinator, and Officer-In-Charge of 3M and Training Assistance Teams while aboard USS HECTOR (AR-7) - Managed an Operations Division of up to 30 sailors and its equipment; safeguarded classified material; and provided maintenance and training assistance to various ships of the U.S. Pacific Surface Fleet.
· Achieved the rank of lieutenant, U.S.N.
· Awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for exceptional performance on a classified project.
